Read or watch a combination of the following until you feel you have a good idea of how your brain retains some memories.  Next, choose a topic from below to write about, explaining how a memory of yours is still recalled today.

Choose 1 of the following topics to write about. Write one paragraph, that is at least 5 sentences long. Include a topic sentence and at least 4 supporting detail sentences. Be sure to use your best spelling, grammar, and punctuation as you work.  Include senses and emotions that were involved in creating this memory.  As you explain how the memory was created, base your reasons on what you learned from the links that you explored.

1.Describe one of your earliest memories.

2. Describe the most unusual or memorable place that you have lived or visited.

3. Write about a holiday memory.  Where were you?  Who was there?  What did you do?

4. Describe an illness/injury.  Have you ever broken a bone, had stitches, or been hospitalized?

5. What was your most beloved toy? What feelings come to mind when you think of the toy?  What did it look like, smell like, texture?

6. What is the scariest moment you have had? What caused it? What details do you remember surrounding the event?

Self-Watering Planters

Here are a few ideas for how to make self-watering planters.  This is just one option that you may choose for your Make a Difference Project.  Many contain materials that you may already have at home, while some may require investing a bit of money.  Remember, you do not have to spend a cent to make this project, but you can purchase materials, if your parents agree.  Also, many require power tools and will require some assistance from an adult.
